Features FAQ
What resolutions are your systems available in?
Our systems range from analog composite, component, and Y/C to SD-SDI and HD-SDI signal types.
Are all of your systems Genlock capable?
Yes.
Do your HD systems require tri-level sync for Genlock?
Both black burst and tri-level are accepted.
Do your systems allow component and Y/C?
All of our analog systems are capable of providing component and Y/C signals. For some models, this may be an optional addon.
Where do I find the latest shortcuts for Compix software?
Do you provide squeeze backs?
Squeeze back (picture-in-picture) is not supported. However, this can be accomplished through your production switcher. If a dual channel system is used, you can create a macro for one squeezed channel while playing full-framed graphics on the other.
Do you allow AVI files?
Compix Persona accepts AVI files. All other models can use targa (.tga) sequences.
What size TGA files are allowed?
Unlimited, however some performance issues may appear if a targa sequence is too long. We recommend using animations that are between 3-7 seconds in duration. If you are using applications like Digital Juice where prebuilt animations can run from 5-45 seconds, simply add a cross-dissolve on the last few seconds of animation to create a seamless loop. Trial and error will provide the best answer.
Do your systems do any signal conversion?
No signal conversion is done in our systems.
Do your systems pass audio?
All of our digital systems pass embedded audio.
Do your systems pass closed captioning?
All of our systems pass closed captioning.
Can we play sound with our video files?
The audio will play out of the computer's sound output. Compix Persona, when inserting video clip elements, strips the embedded audio, however you can import MAV or MP3 files and play it through the Timeline. All other models cannot play sounds or video files, however GenCG is capable of playing WAV files with the Clock at the top of each hour.
Can we bring in 3D files with GenCG?
GenCG is a 2D software. Compix Persona is a 3D software which can accept and create 3D objects and text.
If power is lost to the systems, will it still pass video with your unit? Is there a bypass relay?
All systems either have an active mechanical bypass built in or it is available as an option.
Do you provide 1080p HD capability?
Our HD resolutions are 720p/60 and 1080i/30.
Do you have spell check?
No, however Compix systems do support importing text documents. Create a full playlist pre-arranged in a text editor, save it, and import it into the Compix software as a text document. Compix will arrange all text and automatically add a template background in seconds.
Can we remote connect?
Any remote connect software such as GoToMyPC, TeamViewer, and LogMeIn will work with all of our systems.
Can the system be used with a KVM switch?
Yes.
AutoCast can pull data from the web but can it pull images from a URL?
Yes.
Can we send our Compix system text messages to update crawls or full screens?
Yes, if your LinkedIn, Twitter, or Facebook account can generate an RSS feed.
Stay tuned for more details.
Does Compix Persona support stereoscopic 3D?
Compix Persona is a fully featured 3D graphics system that supports both 3D text and the import of 3D objects. Stereoscopic 3D capabilities are not supported at this time.
