Pro Tips from Compix Experts

  1. Embed logos and graphics the right way.
  2. post_onairEmbedding logos shouldn't be a chore; and with Compix, it's not. You can import an assortment of image file formats and, with one click of your mouse, embed the image straight to your video. If you would like to apply an effect for your image, we support up to 260 types, including your standard dissolve. Don't fret when your graphic artist gives you a file without transparency. Simply edit it in Microsoft Paint, change the background color to black, and save it as a 24bit BMP or TGA file. Once imported, Compix automatically takes out all black areas, giving you a clean look that's ready to use. In addition, you can place all images in the Style Catalog for easy access. Simply drag and drop it onto your Canvas. The Style Catalog allows for an assortment of images, animations, templates, colors, and character types ready for action. Compix gives you the cake with just the right amount of icing, keeping it simple, fast, and intuitive.

  4. Get it done in one take.
  5. post_onair2If you are doing post production for any type of Live-to-Tape event, simply connect your Compix system downstream and record your video overlay live. Compix gives you the ability to play graphics any number of ways. The numeric keypad is used exclusively for play output; use it to call up page numbers, play the next or previous pages, and even control the speed of your crawls and rolls. If you'd rather not use the keyboard, don't worry, we provide ways to play without a single keystroke. Using the Live View option, click on pages in the Play List to automatically bring them live to air. Live View also outputs changes to the Canvas as you edit. Begin typing or modifying objects and watch the changes appear on air. If that's a bit too abrasive, you can take graphics in and out with the Playback Control's play, pause, and stop buttons. When you're finished recording your first live run, there's no reason to re-record. Having a live, linear Compix CG will allow you to accomplish your task in one take.
