Pro Tips from Compix Experts
- Running 6 CG channels through 1 output is simple and effective.

You have a rundown of your show, pre-set and ready to go. If you have a second channel or second CG, you have the capability to display your bug, ticker, and time over your existing graphics. Being able to independently control them really sets you apart from having just a single channel. However, imagine if you could have the power of 6 channels in one, connected to a single DSK on your switcher. This is what Compix offers and it's much easier to operate than it seems.- Your standard rundown of graphics for your show becomes one of your 6 VirtualOverlays™. If you have a station ID you would like to control separately, create it on a new page and select a different VirtualOverlay. Now you can run your original Play List and, with the press of a button, take on and off your station ID. If you have a few tickers, additional sponsor graphics, and specialized pages to update on a moment's notice, assign each of them to different Overlays. Each VirtualOverlay is controlled independently, taking on and off air either through the software interface or the included LiveAction keyboard. VirtualOverlay 2 is a bit different than the others in that selected pages play out exclusively with the 4, 5, and 6 keys from the numeric keypad. Having the ability to assign specific pages to individual keys allows for fast action entry and dynamic play output without disturbing your standard rundown of graphics.

- Connecting to the outside world shouldn't be a difficult process.

Compix offers many outstanding applications that bring your look and feel to a broadcast quality level. When it comes to communicating with Compix from the outside world, we give you a multitude of options to choose from, all working in perfect synergy. Compix gives you AutoCast which takes aliased objects and makes them dynamic, instead of just displaying your graphic "as-is". AutoCast takes the templates you've created and automatically assigns data to your aliases. You can connect with XML, Excel, URL, RSS, ODBC, Triple I, Scoreboards, and TXT files. Either have AutoCast watch files for updates or generate your full show in seconds. Once the page and aliases are connected, add it to the Play List and it's ready for air. When brought in to Preview, the dynamic page will update its information and play out seamlessly. Run your Play List manually, automatically, or through the automation playback where AutoCast plays the most recently updated page. If your CG is upstream of the switcher, it is recommended to run your Play List manually as you have the option of double-clicking a page to bring it to air.
