South Union Township Sports Network in Union Town, Pennsylvania, is a video production company that focuses on sports but also includes various types of video productions.  In 2005 they were introduced to Compix through Tri-State Video Services in Pittsburg and purchased a Compix LCG 5000D.  Before using Compix, their production mainly consisted of video cameras used for footage and a basic PC to create simple graphics.

It has now been 6 years since South Union Township Sports Network began using Compix and they couldn’t be happier. Almost all of their production relies on their Compix system. Their sports productions include: graphics for all major high school sports, Division 2 baseball for their local colleges, football, soccer, swimming, and volleyball. The graphics they generate include lower thirds (with player’s names), scoreboards, game stats, and logos. South Union Township Network has existed now for 22 years and has produced about 3,052 games for their local town.

Jerry Dupey, a retired fireman and Video Technician for the South Union Township Sports Network, does all the video editing and creates all graphics on the Compix system used in his production.  His studio consists of about $40,000 worth of equipment with the Compix system being the “Heart and Soul of his production”. Jerry says he enjoys working with his Compix system: “The graphics I am able to create with the Compix are what really make my productions successful.”  He also mentioned that his network was able to pick up 20 new sponsors after they integrated Compix into their production because people really like the look of the graphics they produced.  “I am always getting compliments on the look of my graphics,” Jerry says.

South Union Township Network also produces commercials for local business which includes banks, doctor offices, furniture stores, local dentist offices, real estate agents, auto dealers, and the Union Town Mall.  They have produced about 60-70 commercials with all the graphics generated from the Compix system.  They also work with their local high schools to produce graduations and create graphics for school board meetings. All of South Union Township Networks production is broadcasted through California University of Pennsylvania TV, an award winning station seen in over 100,000 homes through various cable systems in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
