“Compix has been great to work with."
Lakeland Public Television is a local PBS station in northern Minnesota. They recently took on the television production of Bemidji State University's hockey home games, broadcasting them throughout the state of Minnesota as well as into North Dakota and Wisconsin.
Their productions are full HD and they use the Compix CynerG2 HD with Autocast software to interface with a Daktronics scoreboard system. The game clock, penalty information, and game score is updated directly to program graphics created using Compix GenCG software. They also use Autocast to pull statistics information from a website that the university set up with up-to-date game information.
With just one operator, they are able to keep up with all the graphics they need throughout the game; most of the data in the graphics are being brought in through Autocast from other sources like the scoreboard and statistics website.
Lakeland utilizes both channels of the dual channel character generator. One channel is used to place a banner across the top of the screen with team names, scores, game clock, and penalty clocks; this banner stays up during the entire game play. The second channel is used for lower thirds, additional stat information, and full-screen pages.

“Compix has been great to work with. Upon having trouble with the software, we called customer support and they immediately worked on and revised the software to meet our needs,” says Tim Larson, a producer/director at Lakeland Public Television.
