We all want our students to succeed. The more real-world experience they gain in the classroom, the better prepared they are for their career. For this reason, Compix introduced SchoolSmart™ -- the add-on package geared specifically towards advancing students’ skills in creating high-quality broadcast graphics.

The SchoolSmart™ package can be added on to an existing or new Compix character generator and includes tools for creativity and collaboration. Not only does it come with extra fonts, templates, and backgrounds to experiment with, it also includes easy-to-use 3D animation software that can be imported directly into GenCG. Compix AutoCast comes standard with the SchoolSmart™ package for integration with news room control systems (NRCS) such as EZ News and Comprompter. This enables students to gain valuable experience with NRCS interfacing, a skill set they can take to any newsroom.

Another perk that comes with SchoolSmart™ is the 10 years of unlimited GenCG Offline licenses for all students, faculty, and staff. GenCG Offline is a fully featured remote version of our standard software that can be installed on any personal computer. While the Offline version cannot play to air from a PC, previews of pages can be played out to the VGA monitor for viewing.cynerG2

With GenCG Offline, each student can work on his project using his personal computer and just transfer the files over to the Compix system before going on-air. This significantly frees up the time otherwise spent on the Compix system and may promote collaborative work among groups of students.

Any user can receive one free GenCG Offline license just by registering a Compix system and extras can be ordered. Educational institutions are eligible for a free three year license agreement for their students, even if they do not currently have SchoolSmart™.

Compix cares about our students. We are proud to provide the tools to help them expand their skill set and prepare for their future.
