Compix Products at WFX Charlotte:
CynerG2 Character Generator
First unveiled at the 2009 NAB Show, and garnering the prestigious Broadcast Engineering Magazine Pick Hit award, the new Compix CynerG2 is a broadcast-quality, dual-channel HD character generator (CG) with unrivalled price/performance, ideal for the house-of-worship market. Capable of simultaneously outputting graphics in either SD-SDI or HD-SDI, Compix's new dual-channel CynerG2 packs a powerful punch into a conveniently sized 4-RU chassis.
CynerG2 has the inherent advantage of branding multiple video streams with different overlay material from a single chassis and one easy-to-use interface. Rather than invest in two separate CG systems, church users can apply the CynerG2 to two different functions at once, saving both time and money. Additionally, because the data required to create and playback graphics can be used between the product's two internal systems, users need only maintain one set of graphics data. Dedicated logo insertion, EAS message generation, and automated template-based headline news tickers and crawls are also features supported by the CynerG2.
CompactCG
The CompactCG is an affordable stand-alone system that leverages the power of Compix's industry leading character generator (CG) systems. The CompactCG, a portable CG that offers the specs and rich feature set of a full-size system in a rugged 1-RU chassis, is purpose-built for space-constrained applications like mobile broadcast and OB vans, flypack systems, multivenue use, and many other uses.
The CompactCG is both easy to install and easy to use, providing automated template-based graphics generation and real-time graphics overlay of live video in analog or SD-SDI productions. Like all other Compix CG solutions, the CompactCG supports 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios, Windows® IME (Input Method Editors) multiple language settings, and TrueType® fonts, enabling true multilingual support and unlimited font styles.
The new portable CG from Compix is ideal for channel-branding applications, with software options including NewsScroll with RSS, which provides the power of multiple crawls, logos, a real-time clock, live weather updates, ratings, live RSS feeds, and more.
Compix offers the new CG in two configurations: CompactCG SD-SDI and CompactCG Analog. The CompactCG SD-SDI is a single-channel system with video and key, as well as input video overlay. The CompactCG Analog is a single-channel SD system that provides a composite NTSC and PAL and component analog broadcast-quality input and output, with video and key, plus internal video overlay. Both configurations can be used with or without a video switcher, and each includes an input video mechanical bypass relay to ensure signal integrity even if power to the unit is lost.
CompixMOS 2.0
CompixMOS 2.0 is an easy-to-use MOS interface for advanced newsroom integration of content from graphics systems, still stores, and clip players. Bringing an elegant and affordable implementation of the MOS protocol to a wide range of users, CompixMOS 2.0 allows insertion of CG events directly into newsroom scripts. By supporting the integration of discrete external devices, the interface allows users to build high-quality news products ready to air from within the NRCS rundown script interface.
CompixMOS 2.0 operates with world-leading newsroom computer systems including AP ENPS, Avid® iNEWS®, OCTOPUS, and EZNews. Tools for browsing graphic templates, populating selected graphics with news information, and previewing graphics prior to air together enable convenient, accurate graphics insertion from any workstation on the NRCS network. CompixMOS 2.0 requires only a basic networked computer to run the software and handle network traffic.
